The implementation of TAF in SurveyMETER

July 2010 SurveyMETER was selected as a participant in the Knowledge Sector Development Program for the policies implemented by The Asia Foundation. This program aims to develop an institute to be advanced and give a large contribution to the development of science in Indonesia. This certainly is a joy for all staff of SurveyMETER.
With assistance from the Asia Foundation staff various program had been compiled. In general, the program was divided into 2 Capacity Powering Organization and Capacity Technical Powering Capacity. Several activities that had been and are being run include: SOP Improvement and Evaluation, meetings discussing Structure and Mechanism of Organization and Organizational inventory and comparative study of organizational capacity. Meanwhile for Technical Powering Capacity such as: Stata inhouse training, English training, writing papers, journals and scientific works and the few activities that engaged the outside community, such as seminars and workshops.
After 10 months, this program had shown positive results in increasing the capacity of staff and institutions. This is shown from the ability of staff in the field of data analysis that began to rise. The increase was also seen in the capacity of institutions. This is evident from the many institutions and individuals in Indonesia who proposed cooperation with SurveyMETER both for surveying and in completing the study. (SM)
Rural Household Survey (SRTP) 2011: Studying Women-Headed Households in Rural Areas
According to data from the Indonesian Susenas collected in 2007, the proportion of the empowerment of women headed of families (PEKKA) was 13.60%, or around 6 million households, accounting for about 30 million individuals. In comparison to statistics from 2001, when PEKKA was first launched, which showed a rate of less than 13%, this indicates a trend of 0.1% annual growth in the number of households headed by women.

Data Susenas Indonesia tahun 2007 menunjukkan bahwa jumlah rumah tangga dengan perempuan sebagai kepala rumah tangga (PEKKA) mencapai 13.60% atau sekitar 6 juta rumah tangga yang mencakup lebih dari 30 juta penduduk. Jika dibandingkan data tahun 2001 ketika PEKKA pertama kali digagas yang kurang dari 13%, ini menunjukkan kecenderungan peningkatan rumah tangga yang dikepalai perempuan rata-rata 0.1% per tahun.

SurveyMETER menggelar Seminar Sehari Pengenalan dan Penggunaan Data SAKERTI (Survei Aspek Kehidupan Rumah Tangga Indonesia) atau Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS). Seminar digelar di University Club UGM Yogyakarta dengan peserta lebih dari 250 peserta yang terdiri dari akdemisi, mahasiswa, peneliti, pengelola organisasi masyarakat, apparat pemerintah, dan masyarakt umum termasuk staf peneliti internal SurveyMETER.

SurveyMETER conducted fieldwork for the 2011 Indonesian Sanitation Survey (SSI) during January 9–24. The study aims to ascertain the socioeconomic circumstances of households, the state of sanitation, and the design, construction, and use of latrines.
